Clinton C. Koppes, 96, of North Newton, Kan., died on Nov. 25, 2015. He was born on Sept. 10, 1919, to Daniel Atlee and Melinda Koppes in Newton.
He graduated from Newton High School in 1937 and Bethel College in 1942. He was a devoted alumnus supporter of the college.
He married Effie in 1944. She preceded him in death in 2012.
He served in Civilian Public Service during World War II. After farming with his parents, he worked as a pressman at the Mennonite Press for more than 30 years.
He served on the North Newton City Council. He was a devoted volunteer at Bethel College's Kauffman Museum and with the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance Program. He was a member of Bethel College Mennonite Church. He was an ardent traveler, antique hunter and railroad enthusiast.
Survivors include three children, Clayton of Cleveland, Ohio, Barbara Beal of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Duane of Newton; a brother, Dean and his wife, Linda, of Newton; and a granddaughter, Katherine Pruess of Jamaica Plain, Mass.
Services were held at Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
A memorial scholarship fund has been established with Bethel College.

Yoder, Carl Edward
Carl Edward Yoder, 83, of Goshen, Ind., died Nov. 19, 2015. He was born Jan. 11, 1932, to Harvey and Eliza (Newcomer) Yoder in Elkhart County.
He married Ruth Martin on Oct. 3, 1954.
He was a 1950 graduate of Wakarusa High School and served in the Pax program in Germany. He retired from Sears as a hardware manager after 33 years. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Olive Mennonite Church, where he served as an elder and a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Yoder; three daughters, Bonnie Gerber and her husband, Jim, of Mishawaka, Charlotte Neumann and her husband, Gerd, of Germany, and Rebecca Stichter and her husband, Frank, of Goshen; two brothers, Merrill Yoder of Mishawaka and David Yoder of Elkhart; a sister, Miriam Wenger of Goshen; a sister-in-law, Mildred Yoder of Goshen; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Ivan and Earl Yoder; a sister, Emma Hart; and a grandson, Christopher Gerber.
Services were held at Olive Mennonite Church. Burial was in Olive (West) Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be directed to Mennonite Central Committee.
